Leonard Valve Recommended Maintenance Schedule

Leonard Valve recommends inspecting thermostatic mixing valves shortly after installation, and establishing a routine preventive maintenance schedule based on water quality and operating conditions.

Inspection Interval

Recommended Action

30–60 days after installation

Verify valve performance, disassemble the valve if needed, inspect internal components, and check for mineral deposits or debris. Ensure moving parts operate freely.

If the valve is operating normally

Reassemble the valve, verify proper operation, reset the high-temperature limit if necessary, and schedule the next inspection within 6–12 months.

If deposits or performance issues are found

Thoroughly clean the valve, replace worn components as needed, verify proper operation, and schedule another inspection within 60 days.

Ongoing maintenance

Adjust inspection frequency based on valve condition, usage, and local water quality. Leonard recommends inspections at least every 6–12 months.
